I was very touched to see all the photos of Dianne as a child, together with me and Alison. It reminded me of a time long passed where we were the children getting up to all sorts of mischief, arguing and then making up again...and then we all became the grown ups with children of their own, and the three of us moved away and ended up in Belgium, Ireland and Carshalton. But if she was far away from us geographically Dianne was always there by telephone and whenever I was in trouble she would rush over to Belgium to see me. I remember once that Dianne heard I was in hospital having an emergency removal of my appendix. There were complications and Dianne announced that she was on her way, fortunately by the time she arrived I was feeling much better and was soon was released from the hospital but as Dianne remarked "I was told her was gravely ill but by the time i got there the next day he was saying that he was very hungry and could we please go out for lunch?" I will miss her a lot and cannot really bring myself to believe that she is really gone.
